Crest Differences
Hi all! Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change in my 2 water dragons. Karamu, my first, I believe is a little older. Miyagi is a bit younger. Now, the interesting thing is, Miyagi is growing a prominent crest and Karamu is not. I think it is because Miyagi is male and Karamu female? Let me know what you think! It could just be that one of them is eating a bit more. I don't really know why they do it, I have the same thing going on with my two water dragons and I think it's due to one with a picky appetite.

Hello,
I have never kept WD's, but I would lean toward Sav's answer. The crest is a dominant feature and does sound like it would be depictive of the male species. |

I spose it depends on how big they are, mine are around 13 and 14 inches snout to tail length and it's starting to look like the one with the larger crest who is younger but larger in size is a female, or so Savannah says.
My other one who is a little smaller and has a smaller crest is starting to look more like a male though. How long are yours?
