unexpected problem feeding guppies

well...I got Lee a guppy, got it home and....my 3 yo twins think the guppy is a pet. SIGH. It is now in a bowl on the table and they are talking to it.
So much for that idea.

Aww. Kids are great, but there is a problem with keeping a guppy in a fish bowl for a long amount of time...they need circulation of water. If you got something with a pump and filter then it would be alright but from what I understand guppies can't be kept without it for a long period of time...

You know what I did (not that I'm suggesting it) is I put a couple guppies in one of the WD's water dishs so that it has a place to stay and so I might get lucky and he'll eat it sometime...it didn't work for me though. He didn't end up eating any of them. I still haven't gotten my WD to eat whole prey.

I'm going to try and distract my kids with feeder goldfish tomorrow when I go back for waxworms. Yeah I was going to put the guppy in the water bowl and see if he would be interested.

Feed the guppy to the dragon while they aren't around and then explain to them that you sent him to live in a giant pond with lots of other fish....that's what my parents use to tell me when our goldfish would become turtle food.
