Sicne I have posted this in 1/2 a dozen places already might as well share it here also. I dropped about $130 or so today on the ’kids’. I ended up going with 2 brand new mega ray self ballasted bulbs as my UVB solution for Kizzy (skink) and Drakkar (uro):

The price point compared to the external ballasted allowed me to order them earlier in the year, even though I'd prefer the external ballatsed kits, and the additional heat from these self ballasted bulbs will be much appreciated by both animals.

Its a PE1 temp gun from tempgun.com and will allow me to check surface temps in a single click, a must have for the uro’s hot basking spot I am told. Just wanted to share another exciting day in our lives.

The Temp Guns are amazing devices. It will really open your eyes as to exactly what is going on in the enclosure temperature wise.

Sorry for reopening this thread lol, I see its fairly old, but it came up in my search on temp guns.

I just got the same 1 the PE1 and I am zappin everything in site lolol its great, and yes Merlin I was surprized at my Uros temps especially, now to work on getting them perfect, great device to have...

Now we just need a hygrometer gun to be invented.
