wondering if Gatoraide would hurt cling..
ealier today, i had a rather large glass of gatoraide out, and cling was running around and knocked it over. He spashed in it for a second then started drinking it. gatoraide wouldn't harm him would it? cause the high sugar and preservatives and stuff.

Many reptile keepers when they are working with a dehydrated animal use a watered down (half water and half gatorade) solution of gatorade to help rehydrated them with the electrolytes that they need. So a little sip of straight gatoraide shouldn't hurt him.
BTW I almost named one of my water dragons Cling- I like that name.

Yes gatorade can be used, but I prefer pedialite which is used for dehydrating infants/babbies. It's more of a personal choice I would think. Good luck

Pedialyte is somewhat better, it has more electrolytes and less sugar.

Pedialyte is definitely better to use on a herp that needs to be re-hydrated. Watered down gatorade is used by some herpers when rehydrating a sick reptile as well.
This was an accidental drink though, and with water dragons being as curious as they are and getting into things they shouldn't it was great that FlamingCling decided to ask us about it.
Ken- why are you *de-hydrating* infants and babies???? LOL

Why else? it makes them easier to store.
Then come time for the family gatherings you just add water and whooosh! There they are to show off to granny and grandpa!
