a quick question about feces (terds)

i remember reading a while before I got cling, that their feces should be intact, normally a long cylinder. Recently his feces have been a mess. I've been there twice when he has done it, and it just squirts and is pretty runny.

my question, as I said above, what is wrong with that?
I remember reading about this, and I cant find it anywhere now.
Thanks in advance everyone.

Ill put some pictures of cling up. Hes hit like a growth spurt or something. Like an inch and a half in a month (snout to vent)

It sounds like he could have some parasite. A vet visit might be required so he can prescribe medication. Here is Trisha's site with a list of common ailments. She will be around and give better information to you.

What have you been feeding Cling? Earthworms can make their stool runny. Otherwise, I agree- Cling likely has a parasite infection- especially if the stool is very smelly. Take a sample of the stool with you to the vet for testing and yes- get Clings snout/mouth checked out too. Snout damage can be very serious if it's not treated properly.

Good luck!

vet apt was today, no infections of any type. the only stool I could bring was 2 days old, but we got a fresh one while we were there... haha, the only concern was his snout, as he has a white spot, its being treated mouth rot. The vet has me putting this cream on his lip, and is expected to make a full recovery :-D

Hello,

Thats great! Congrats. Any wounds around the mouth have the potential to add mouthrot as a secondary infection. It's a good idea to clean up the possible site now before it makes a full presentation.
