Cling was oringinaly in a 20g long tank, i dont know the new tank size, but its a good 2 feet bigger in all directions, 1 foot up from the orginal. he seems to me a little timid about all of it, any thing I can do to ease his worries?

Is it adequately planted? They need a lot of plant cover to feel secure. You'll also need an even bigger cage eventually. Check out the WD caresheet here for more info:

He's exploring his new home. They lick things to "smell" it. That's normal.

Give him a bit of time to get used to his new home, and check your temps a few times a day to make sure they are correct- there can be temp fluctuations for a while when a cage is just set up and it's good to keep an eye on the temps to make sure everything is correct.

Also make sure that your basking lights aren't causing any reflection on the glass- if freaks wd's out if they can see themselves. they seem to think another wd is trying to get in.

You can even put some paper on the outside of the glass so he can't see out easily. Sometimes if a dragon is acting nervous or stressed this helps them calm down a bit- makes their enviornment only as big as their cage ... instead of being able to see out and see all the activity in the room that might add to their stress. If you put some paper on the outside of the cage make sure it isn't near a heat source- don't want to cause a fire.
