ok well then these are the bulbs i think i'm going to be using. the far left is exo terra basking spot light bulb, to the right of that is possibly a second CHE, directly in center of enclosure is Mercury Vapor, and to the far right is going to be CHE for night time....here is my new basic design without the vines and ropes this is just the enclosure itself. How am i looking now?

Just like to say that you are smart to be taking advice from these members. They have built, modified and used many enclosures.
The planning stage is a pain in the arse, but well worth it's time.
Keep in mind as well that your bulb wattages could vary depending on the room temperature that the unit is placed in as well.
Two thumbs up to you.
If you do go with an MVB (ideally ZooMed) make sure it's mounted at least 12-15" from the animal (not the basking spot). I'd also recommend picking up the bulb(s) from Amazon--you will find them much cheaper there (~$35 vs $50-60+) than at your local brick and mortar petshop.

Either way, I wouldn't recommend using this bulb based on tests I've seen.
thanks for all the help everyone..... my room temps are around 70 to 75 degree Fahrenheit what size bulbs would you guys recommend i do plan to put my che on dimmer so if it is larger than needed i can use the dimmer to regulate temps but how about the other bulbs?

Instead of a dimmer, I would suggest a thermostat to control the CHE. The dimmer is just basicly a high medium and low switch while the stat will hold things at a given temperature.Quote:

Hi again, if the room temp is between 21 and 24c (70+ to 75f), you may only need the MVB, you certainly don`t need a basking bulb too, because the MVB is for that purpose, and may just provide sufficient heat on it`s own. You need to do as I suggested earlier; put a normal household bulb in and see what temps you get towards the top of the enclosure, because that`s likely to be where you place the basking spot (daytime). If the minimum temp during the night is still around 24c (75f) it might be o.k without any extra heating, but you need to be sure of that at all times!
EDIT: Looking at your plan, I think it might be better to house the MVB outside on the top, because if it`s inside, the length of the bulb plus holder, is around 20cm (8inches), then you need at least another 30cm (12inches) between the face of the bulb to the surface of the animal, in which case, you lose much of the height. (Good thinking, I think)! ;)
i was actually thinking about using a screen at the top not for the whole thing only areas where the bulbs are just for the fact that my mister may spray on the bulbs and i wouldn't want them to shatter..... the diagram shows the bulbs in the cage but that was really just for the purpose of showing where they will be
will the screen disrupt the uvb/uva rays or block them at all?
