:D We found an Australian Water Dragon!

Hi!

We got a new baby from a very reputable retile pet store this weekend.
He'a about 3 times the size of the Chinese Water Dragon that didn't live past 4 days.

This guy ate a cricket as soon as we got him home. We put crickets in his cage & they seen to be disappearing & he's going to the bathroom. This must mean his digestive system is working.

We're hoping he aclimates soon. Any ideas how we can help him?

Just leave him alone and give him time to settle in with out being bothered with. I'd give at least a week before you start handling.

I had the chance to get one, but they were $100+ and I just didn't have the money. :/

Agreed. Just leave him be for a while, and learn the habitat. He'll learn real quick (mine did!) that your hands in his cage = food. And Bearded Dragons will eat you out of house and home. I suspect that mine eats her own weight in food every 2 days or so. ;-)
