Seems just OK, we get to see the vet today @5:00. Hey, Bitis I went out and got her crickets yesterday, she never ate them, and she loves them. She has never done this to me before.
?Silkies, are worms right?
Gosh, I have been online for only a day, and learned so much from this site!
And to think I was beginning to think I actually knew alot.
Ya, the vet wants me to bring in her poop. She also recommended in the meantime to let her "soak" in a warm bathtub. Strange, but I am doing it.

Glad you got to the vets ok, a faecal exam will allow them to check for parasites and illness.

The soaking will help with a) constipation - this may be a cause of the loss of appetite, and warm baths can help them go to the toilet more easily. Warm baths are wonderful cures for all sorts of things! - can sometimes work with egg-binding as well! and also b) hydration.. if she hasn't been eating then she may be a bit dehydrated from loss of water and the bath might encourage her to drink and soak up some much needed fluids.

Now, difficult to get a poo sample to the vet if she's not eating, but if the bath does help try and save some of the poo (put it in the fridge in a sealed container if overnight) and get it to the vet asap. Did the vet get to check the lizard over?

Good luck, and we are always glad to help - and don't worry, i'm sure you knew plenty, but noone can ever know it all. We are all here to learn.

Kiko is fine, very healthy, but constipated. Yes, the bathtub soaking seemed a little odd, like you said, its an important one to remember. Shes is also older than we thought. Even got her nails trimmed.

I have to run a sample to the vet from kiko today, just to further check her out.
Thanks for the help.

So she's pooped then? Bet that's the first time you've been glad to see poo!

How old is she? (How old did you think she was?) - how do you know?

Good luck, I hope all is fine, I'm sure it will be.

Ya, poor girl. Then we have to get it to the vet. Anyway, my son was told at the pet store she was 3-4 months old (just assuming she is a she). Vet seems to think she is older than one year. She claims kiko is a teenager, whatever that means.

In any case, she sure feels better now!

PS Kiko had another bath today, I think she really love it!

Yeah, glad to hear she is doing better. Is she eating now?

What kind of size is she? - length, weight,..
Unfortunately many pet shops just don't have a clue and they will say anything to make a sale - curious, how big did the pet shop say she would get?

ya, i know she is 19", for get her weight, although she could go on a diet(ha).
I was told she could get to 40", and at the rate she has grown, I tend to beleive it!
She was 81/2 - 9" when I got her.

Oh ya, she is back to eating like a champ.
