Strange eye!

I noticed for the first time today something very odd about my water dragons' eye. I witnessed a dark, membrane-like mass swipe my dragons eye. It came from the side of the eyelid (side facing the front) and moved almost like a tongue, and thick like one too. it retracted back into the side of the socket and out of sight. The dragon did this 3 times, it didn't seem to hurt it but extremely strange. At first I thought somehow the dragon was using its tongue!

Have you heard/seen this before?? I am at a lose.

Thank You,

Brandon

This is an old thread but I'm bringing it back up because a) it got no replies and b) I saw my dragon do this once, too O_O; I took her to the vet's soon after, saying (Among other things) I thought she might have an eye infection.. but the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her and I haven't seen it since.

*giggles* Ah good. It freaked me out the first time I saw it - I thought she might be really sick =/

I wonder what the scientific term for it is? Hum, might be time for me to do some amateur research (And by "research" I mean "wikipedia" and "google" <_< )
