Re: 1st Dragon, Too Skinny? WD/Enclosure Pictures
Cool, I'll try that out Ilovegreen, I hold the veggies by his face and wiggle them for about 30 mins each week till my arm is tired of reaching in there heh, but I'll try mixing them in with some worms.
Thanks for the link Dragonpaw, It would definitely be nice to have a digital instead of mine. Yep it's a full spectrum UVB light. I browsed a couple stores trying to find a cage that would work around the heat fixture that I have, but I think I'm going to have to make some. Time for a trip to Home Depot tomorrow hehe, gonna check for some cool fake plants there tomorrow too. I'm planning on using a bookshelf that I got from Walmart and building his new home out of that, It's a little longer than my tank in the pic above, but going to be about 4 times as tall as the tank. I'm not sure what the dimensions are, I lost my measuring tape the last time I measured my WD. =/ I'll post some pics of his underside tomorrow, It kinda looks like he has the 2 very small Bumps right beneath his vent under his tail instead of the 1 that the females have, but no darkened Femoral pores yet.

When biulding his/her home just remember that he will be much bigger some day. So make the enclosure for him as an adult so you won't have to make a new one in a year

Re: 1st Dragon, Too Skinny? WD/Enclosure Pictures
What is the brand and UVB output (5.0, 10.0, etc.) of the compact UVB light?
I would advise that you get rid of the compact UVB light. Some compact UVB lights have been known to cause serious health issues in reptiles due to potentially dangerous UVB rays produced by these compacts. I would avoid them all together to be safe. Here is information about it: UV Lighting for Reptiles: A new problem with high UVB output fluorescent compact lamps and tubes?
You can use a UVB fluorescent tube light (the linear version) instead. A good one of these is the Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0 (the linear version, NOT the compact). If you are interested in such a light, you can buy it online at such places:
Pet Supplies, Reptile Supplies, Dog Supplies, Cat Supplies & Small Pet Supply Products
Reptile Supplies and Exotic Animals
Pet stores sell UVB lights for ridiculous prices. For example, you can buy the Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0 online for 20$ plus a little shipping while a pet store will sell the same light for 45-50$.
Or there are UVB mercury vapor bulbs. An excellent one of these is reptileuv.com's Mega-Ray:

Re: 1st Dragon, Too Skinny? WD/Enclosure Pictures
Thanks very much for the info, I had no Idea that these bulbs could cause harm to my little guy. The one I have is the ExoTerra Repti Glo 2.0 UVB, I couldn't find any info in the link about this bulb I have, Do you know if these have caused any problems in the past?

Re: 1st Dragon, Too Skinny? WD/Enclosure Pictures
I am unaware of any problems caused by the compact Exo Terra Repti Glo 2.0 specifically.
However, I would switch it out to be on the safe side. Plus, a 2.0 is not enough UVB for a water dragon.
Get a 5.0 at least, if not more.
Also, avoid the Exo Terra Repti Glo 10.0 - BOTH the compact AND linear versions. Apparently it is has been causing the same health issues as some of the compacts.
The Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0 (linear) is fine on the other hand; it is the only UVB fluorescent tube light I would use.

Re: 1st Dragon, Too Skinny? WD/Enclosure Pictures
Giday Topher. Nice looking Dragon. I use an ordinary home light bulb as well as uvb. I also use an electric blaket sandwiched between the glass and a polystyrene back and sides. Although mine are AustralianWDs you might try a higher watt bulb than I use. Mine have a dark shelf above the lights which is warm as and they love it. Cheers

Hi Devils keeper and Thanks. =D I love Australian WDs, That was actually my first choice to get one of those, but they are very hard to find where I live heh. I love my little dragon but an Aussie one would've been awesome!

Re: 1st Dragon, Too Skinny? WD/Enclosure Pictures
I'd go for the mega-ray mercury vapor bulb. It lasts a year instead of the 6 months as a regular UVB tube.
