My Chinese Water Dragon

When I had problems with Demitrius a while back, you were all very helpful and supportive. I wanted to thank you all, and let you know I'm still around!

Of course, now the Demitrius is getting bigger, I'm seriously beginning to think that he is a she (Demi, maybe?). I'm not sure yet, but I don't care either way...he/she is still the most intriguing and entertaining of all our lizards!

Here's a pic (if I get this right)...

Re: My Chinese Water Dragon

Still too soon to tell for sure, but he looks male to me. Females tend to be a little darker.

Re: My Chinese Water Dragon

How long is the dragon?

It looks female, but that depends on its size.

Not at all. Coloration has little to nothing to do with gender, and the "darkness" of the scales has nothing to do with it at all.

The only color difference between genders is that males tend to have more vivid variations of colors (such as a bright red instead of a more faded red on the throat), but this is not even necessarily accurate in sexing and should not be relied upon.

The "darkness" of scale color only has to do with the individual dragon's variations and its mood.

It definitely has a gorgeous crest, but it is not necessarily a male's. That crest can certainly be a female's crest.

Haha I thought that too as some females got like huuuge crests. I saw that theres a ridge of bone there on along his spine. Would that be an indication on gender difference?

Either way s/he is beaauutiful
