I understand the sadness at possibly having to split them up. When I got Cassie & Drago, everything was fine for a time. After a few months passed, I had to separate them because Cassie would not let Drago under the basking light, kept him pretty much in the water and would not let him eat. I almost lost him. There were never any physical attacks that were seen by me...but the dominance issue is real.

Someone told me in a thread a while ago that we have a tendency to tie human emotions to animal behaviors. While some interpretations may be correct, there are probably just as many that are not. I have done this myself, and almost lost one of my little creatures. I hope you get your wish about keeping them together...but just remember to do what's best for the animal & not whats best for us keepers. In captivity, we picked their cage mates...in the wild, they do.
