Have you done the research? They will require something MUCH bigger down the road, and soon. And be prepared to separate since there is a good chance one will dominate the other and possibly cause injury.

Re: Trying to Get Through the Glass
Liz is right. That's MUCH too small. A 55g for even one will only last so long. They'll definitely need something much larger, with a lot of height so that they can climb, and as much water as you can fit into the cage.
If you decide to build them a cage, it may help with the rubbing problem - especially if you build three sides with an opaque material. The glass side may still be a problem, unfortunately. But if you put their basking spots, food and water as far away from the glass as possible, it may help. They won't have much reason other than curiosity to have contact with the glass.

Re: Trying to Get Through the Glass
My husband and I are having the same problem with our dragon too. We just bought some really soft astro-turf and we are going to line her enclosure with it. Maybe this idea might work for you?

Re: Trying to Get Through the Glass
Possibly. I disagree with someone saying I would have to split them up, they eat together, sleep together. There never was any fighting or even the slightest idea that Izzy was being a bully.

Re: Trying to Get Through the Glass
The fact that they eat and sleep together only means that they both need food and the temperature at that location.
Just because you see no physical conflict does not mean that there isn't dominance stress.
Look at it in this way for an example.
I am twice your size and making, what are to you, noticeable aggressive signs.
We are locked together in a very small room where you have no way to get away from me, should I decide to make the aggression more personal.
Just because I am not currently beating on you doesn't mean that I would not be making you very nervous.

Re: Trying to Get Through the Glass
You just have to watch them carefully.
I've seen over and over similar situations - where someone has a couple together and documents them seemingly happy, always together, not a care in the world. Then one day they come home to both with injuries from fighting and wonders what happened.
They don't actually attach or bond like we would to a friend. They really just tolerate each other until they determine there's a threat and then their dynamics change. If that happens, they need to be separated.
Some can and have lived together their whole lives and don't seem to have a problem. (Keep in mind that they might not visibly show how nervous or scared they actually are. That would be showing weakness.) Unfortunately, that's not the case most of the time. It's better to know beforehand the risks of keeping them together.

I think you are probably already running into dominate issues. In one of your other threads you stated that your smaller dragon won't go near the "pool" this is probably because the bigger one has claimed that for its territory.

Re: Trying to Get Through the Glass
Watch out cause when the smaller one reaches sexual maturity then the relation begins to change. If he is a he then territory aggression will most likely escalate into scuffles.

Re: Trying to Get Through the Glass
sounds like the tank is big enough but you realy need some height. build a top for the aquarium use wood and seal it for moisture. as for the glass, i used glass etching compound I found at a craft store. i then made cut outs in the shape of grass and leaves from contact paper follow the instructions for the etching compound. it looks great and cut down on the snout rubbing. she cant see out and it cut down on the reflections. good luck
