Re: Fruits and Veggies List

It's in part 5 of the link Liz provided.

Keep in mind that your dragons may refuse to actually eat the veggies and fruit. If that's the case with yours, you can gutload your insects with the vegetables they should be eating and the insects will pass on the nutrients.

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

Oh no wonder I was looking at part 6. Gosh I'm blind, okay thanks!

I got them to eat strawberries and raspberries once, but they were hungry. Not too interested in veggies though lol.
Just wanted to know what other fruits I could offer =)

Thanks again guys!

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

Do you just place those yummy blueberries in a bowl at the bottom of the enclosure?

So far i've gotten my two WD's to chow down on them blueberries, but only by hand. Started wiggling it and tricked the thinking it was alive or something xD silly silly dragons

Otherwise they dont seem to interested, either that or they're takign advantage of me! lol I can see it now! "gosh why go all the way down there too get my food, when I can get this silly human to hand feed me!"

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

when I first started feeding them blueberries I would hand feed by popping a few so they would smell the juices and they would run right up and start licking them an then eat haha.. i still hand feed them but I would think I could jsut start leaving them in a dish... i give them blueberries right before I take them out or when I have them out, but you can feed them blueberries whenever...if they dont go for it still move them around infront of your WDs and they should come running, but then again every WD has his/her own tastes and my not like blueberries as much as mine do..=D

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

Nearly everyone on this board and everyone I've talked to has said that their dragon will eat out of their hand. Mine refuses to! In fact, he will ONLY eat when I'm not watching him. I will put some fresh fruit and waxworms in his jar each day and set him near his dish and he'll just stare at it. He won't even look at the food really! Then, I'll leave the room and come back and he'll have eaten almost everything!!! What is this all about? I'm starting to think he has something against me or something

To respond to the OP I have fed my dragon strawberries, blueberries and raspberries and he has eaten them all. I think any red berry is fine. I was also told NEVER to give lizards iceberg lettuce.

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

haha funny my youngest lizard started handfeeding by accident. I was fixing his branches and had by hand in his enclosure, but hadn't fed them yet that day, and he ran over and licked my fingers because he thought I had something. Sorta startled me haha

so I started holding crickets by the leg and leting the crickets wiggle and everything. But he wont do anything I i move my hand to much. So lol its like tricky, where you wiggle the food source between your fingers and not move the rest of your hand lol

oh! another thing that worked, was to hold my hand completly still and balance a blyeberries or worm on the tip of my finger.

hm how long have you had him? mine didnt eat when I watched him for a long while. sometimes I had to ly on my belly on the floor and stay really still until he thought that I really had let the room before he jumped down and began munching haha

Some critters just don't want to be watched. I have a pacman frog that will only eat in the middle of the night when I am long asleep. My Whites eat anything, any time.

Iceburg lettuce is just water, thats why we are told not to feed it. Romaine isn't much better. Collard and mustard greens are the good stuff.
