so I started holding crickets by the leg and leting the crickets wiggle and everything. But he wont do anything I i move my hand to much. So lol its like tricky, where you wiggle the food source between your fingers and not move the rest of your hand lol

oh! another thing that worked, was to hold my hand completly still and balance a blyeberries or worm on the tip of my finger.

hm how long have you had him? mine didnt eat when I watched him for a long while. sometimes I had to ly on my belly on the floor and stay really still until he thought that I really had let the room before he jumped down and began munching haha
I have had him for about 2 months... I hold him daily- usually he'll just chill on my shoulder while I clean the dishes and whatnot but I have two cats that are VERY interested in getting to know him so I have to be careful. I know that they are probably keeping him on edge by even being in the same home but I've made sure that the cats aren't bothering him while he's in his cage.

Anyway, yeah he's just not interested in eating while I'm around! I'll put a crap load of plump, juicy waxworms in his dish and he'll just sit there! I've never seen such restraint in an animal! I have a wild whiptail that I caught that will eat from my hand like nobody's biz but my WD will NOT even seem interested in food that I'm holding. Strange.

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

Haha, I guess he's just a shy little guy. But I'm guessing as he gets older he will come around. Took mine more than 2 months to get used to me being around. Our other one though is ready to rip out anything that looks like food between your fingers ,haha.

Oh we have 4 cats, haha. and the cats' favorite past time is sitting around the dragon enclosure and watching them. I'm only guessing the dragons are too watching the cats and making fun of their fluffy-fatness. =P

My Dragons, And my 2 dogs. The only thing that describes this relationship is hate. The first time I tried to introduce them the dragon ran on top of the dogs head while it was sniffing him, Ever sense that moment it's been nothing but hate.

You're lucky your dog didn't take a bite out of your dragon...

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

dogs have a high prey drive and will chase and chomp on anything that moves/runs. Cats'll play with their food but dogs will put anything in their mouths that they can reach.

That means if lizzie jumps off and starts to run then the dogs will most likely chase it.

its not "hate" its a mixture of curiosity and prey drive. =)

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

My cats and Rush (the WD) have a pretty respectful boundary. When the lizard is out, the cats want to be involved in the play but know that they are not allowed to "touch". Rush once jumped off of my shoulder suddenly and charged at the cat who was sleeping in the corner of the room- now if that wasn't a hilarious sight!!! A tiny green lizard chasing a 15 pound bengal cat!

Re: Fruits and Veggies List

haha! funny indeed! my cats day goes like this "sleep-eat-potty-sit by the lizards tank and watch them for the rest of the afternoon" such silly fluffballs!

Rush is a cute name! we can clearly see who's boss around there! lol
