Re: Feeder Fish?
I would not use feeder fish as a staple. They are as a whole not very nutritious.

Re: Feeder Fish?
I'm against them just because so many stores that keep feeder fish, don't really care for them at all, and they are usually diseased and sickly.

Re: Feeder Fish?
Fish (whole) may be fed to a dragon as an occasionally food - not as a staple food however.

Fish actually are nutritious; as they have bones, they are a good source of calcium.
Though I agree that they should not be used as a staple food.

Yes, this is true.
It is important to only feed your dragon(s) fish that have been kept in clean, uncrowded conditions. Fish that have kept in crowded conditions are more likely to be carrying parasites.

Re: Feeder Fish?
I feed my dragons small to medium feeder fish all the time. They can be a little bit of a challege to catch at times but they seem to like them.

Re: Feeder Fish?
Feeder fish as a treat are okay, and although they are a good source of calcium and protein, they do lack certain vitamins that can lead to health problems if they are the only food source. If you are going to buy "feeder" fish let your nose tell you what the condition of the tank is. If you can smell the water go somewhere else.

Re: Feeder Fish?
I tried it and it kinda worked..... Hal saw the fish moving so he grabbed it and started chewing it, but the fish ended up falling out his mouth and so he left it since it wasn't moving... He's a messy eater and only eats things that move, unless it's blueberries lol...

Re: Feeder Fish?
I have a "pond" set up in my tank... and when I buy feeder fish, i put them in there... let the fish swim around and most of the time my 2 Wd's go right after them, even though Izzy goes for anything that moves in his pond. But like someone else said, i only buy them like once a month, Nothing too big, and I only buy like 6 or 7. Just to make their variety of food Big.
