Gimpy TWD
I posted some time back about my intention to bring home a Chinese Water Dragon - about four weeks back, I decided to bring home the Chinese Water Dragon we where treating at work for Metabolic Bone Disease - a female I had been calling Gimpy or Gimps for the last few months.
Gimps has made massive improvements since I have brought her home - she's put on weight, has had her first shed in what seems like a long time, and generally is a lot more active then she was before. I've also swapped her diet from crickets and mealworms to Pheonix worms, which also seems to have helped greatly. However - while she is gaining weight, one of her legs still doesn't work quite right, and I am somewhat worried about it. I don't think it will ever heal - the joint looks swollen and the leg doesn't flex or move very well. I honestly think that the leg was broke at some point, and just never healed quite right due to the Metabolic Bone Disease. It doesn't seem to affect her much, mind you, but every once in a while I take a good long hard look at that leg, and wonder. Does anyone out there have any thoughts on this? Alis |
