Chinese Water Dragon Laid Eggs HELP!!!

I have a Chinese Water Dragon that I got from someone about 5 months ago, we thought it was a male but tonight I found eggs in the tank, she has laid about 12 eggs in less than an hour. We had noticed that she did not want to eat the past week or two is this normal? This dragon has not been with a male, so what do I do with these eggs, I have no experience with this and I need your help. Do I need to do anything special while she is laying the eggs do I just throw them away and how often do they lay eggs? Needless to say we thought this was a male at least now we know that it is female.

if she has not been with a male, they are unfertile and you can just throw them out.

Not eating is normal. She'll get her strength back. You might want to dust her food with calcium and added time or two, to help her get her strength back

*i think you hit new thread instead of new post, since you have something else added about your WD being three years old.

I forgot to add to my post that I think she is about 3 years old.

Re: Chinese Water Dragon Laid Eggs HELP!!!

Not eating before laying eggs is normal, but she should get her appetite back once she has laid her eggs.

You can throw out the eggs, as schlegelbagel said, since the dragon has not been with a male.

Since she has not eaten in a while, be sure to give her calcium supplements (phosphorus-free and vitamin D3-free) at every feeding for while along with a good, unexpired UVB light source - dragons lose a lot of calcium from eggs.

Dragons can lay eggs several times a year. Be sure to have a laybox with at least six inches of moist (but not soaked) soil available to her all the time or when you suspect she is gravid.

A "rubbermaid"/plastic shoe box works great as a laybox.
