Re: Trying Again To Put In Pics

I am saying leave me alone, because everyone in here is picking on me because I voiced my own opinions. All I wanted to know was about the shrimp and how to put in a pic, which still isn't working. I have the beginning of Alzheimer's and forget easily. If you don't like what I say then don't reply.

Re: Trying Again To Put In Pics

I don't know about the shrimp, but with the picture click the go advanced button and then click manage attachments. Once you do that click the browse button and find the picture you want to upload and then click it and then click upload once it puts it down as one of the attachments in one of the boxes below you have attached it clike save post and you should be able to see the picture on your post.

P.S. Were not picking on you just trying to help. If you have any other questions just ask and I am sure someone will be able to answer.

Shrimp Shrimp and Pinkies
Pictures Pictures

Pictures do have to be in the proper format to be uploaded, or used as a avatar, under a certain size.
The easiest way would probaly be to set up a account on photo bucket, or a similiar free photo hosting website, and use the [img] [/img] tags to copy/paste it to a post here.

The caps make it harder to read. We are taught in school that caps signify something like the beginning of a sentence, proper nouns, etc. All caps just take a little more focusing to read because they easily blend together. Your computer has settings that allows you to increase fonts sizes and the display of websites to make it easier to read for you.

Your first opinion was calling me a "know it all" for offering advice. lol If this were any other site and you started off like this, every member would have sounded off on you. Instead, everyone has tried to explain the difference between a "know it all" and someone just trying to be helpful. The other posts are also just added advice.

The pics aren't showing because you don't follow instructions or read what people post to you. You started a thread asking how to post pictures. I answered that thread. You either didn't read the response, or you simply didn't follow the instructions.

Here is the thread:

Pictures

Then in another thread where I explained the picture issue you again decided to basically tell me "I" was wrong and that you posted the first pic which worked so the others should too. The problem is, you are doing them differently. (Even though you claim to be doing them the same.) I explained that in your second thread which is located here:

Kermit and Grover

If you follow the instructions posted in the guides, you should be able to add images without an issue. Don't post that images still aren't working when its you adding them wrong. You were helped twice regarding this but just haven't followed the instructions given.

If you are posting something that is rude, ignorant or misleading, we wont simply "not reply". That isn't how it works. This site is geared toward offering advice. Expect advice if you are posting something that someone else can read and be mislead by. (A good example would be your believing that an animal shedding is a sign of great health.)

You posted that every site you go on seems to have a "know it all". If you post like you have on this site, it doesn't surprise me that users jump in to try and respond.

Re: Trying Again To Put In Pics

Its amazing how incredibly helpful everyone has been despite the overall lack of respect from some people posting... My hats of to you, I could not do the same.

Re: Trying Again To Put In Pics

This is not a URL:

Quote:
http://IMG_3460 IMG_3462
That is what you entered as the pics location. A URL starts with http://www. and ends with .com, .org, .info, .net, etc.

To use the method you keep trying to use for adding pictures, the image needs to be on the internet already.

Here is a great way to understand it. You have a picture on the net, in your gallery here on HC. I am going to show you how this works.

Notice the image above works! That is a pic from your galery. The reason it works is because it is a real URL.

I went into your gallery, and clicked the thumbnail picture to open the fullsize image.

Below the image there is a location called: Direct Link Code:

Beside that title is the URL that will show your image in the thread.

I simply copied the url, which is this:

Code:
http://www.herpcenter.com/gallery/files/2/8/7/6/img_3442_96152.jpg
That is a REAL url. It starts with "http://www." and it ends with ".com". Following the sites url is the images path.

If your image doesn't have a sites url at the beginning of it, it will never display using the method you keep trying.

Read this thread: http://www.herpcenter.com/hc-guides/...ed-images.html

Re: Trying Again To Put In Pics

Just to chime in here, I believe Kermit is a female basilisk, not a male.

And I'm sorry if you take offense to our advice, Minny, but that's all it is. Advice. We want to make sure your reptiles are getting the proper care. There are a lot of people out there who think they're doing it right, but actually aren't. I'm not saying you're one of them, I'm just saying we're not taking any chances. You may have just come to ask about the shrimp, but if we see something that doesn't seem quite right, we'll try and offer you information on how to fix it. That's what we do.
