I too have a ZooMed, they recommend a 150 watt for 50-100 gallon enclosure and the 250 watt for larger.

Re: What Kind of Ceramic Heat Emitter

Honestly, I'm not sure. I've never used Catalina Aquarium either.

For a 250g tank, it might be better to err on the side of more power. That's a lot of tank to heat, expecially if you aren't using anything else, like under tank heaters.

The thing is, though, is that you'll have to buy one and use it and watch the temperatures in the tank. If they aren't getting high enough, than another bulb or a more powerful one will be needed. If they are getting too high, then you down grade. We won't really be able to tell you the exact bulb you should have.

Re: What Kind of Ceramic Heat Emitter

Well I ended up going to the reptileuv website and also talked to the owner and I ordered the 100 watt mega ray, a floresant tube and the 60 watt mega emitter heat projector that is what he suggested so I will not be using the Ceramic Heat Emitter when I get those. Thanks for your advice.

Re: What Kind of Ceramic Heat Emitter

Does it heat the air in the enclosure or just the animals?
