Re: Gonzos Recovery Pics

He still looks awfully thin. You really need to get him to a vet. You haven't yet - and he needs some intervention. He is on his way to being emaciated. His tail has very little fat store. His hip bones show - and his eyes are swollen. This doesn't look like a hiding "I can't see you so you can't see me". He looks like he's feeling pretty bad.

Please get him to a vet. Something is going on here and it's up to you to help him out...

Re: Gonzos Recovery Pics

I am going to have to second what Prismwolf has said. Have you had a fecal and checked him for parasites? I have had a lot of reptiles come in here skin and bones,, when the problem was just a 35.00 fecal and 10.00 medication.

Re: Gonzos Recovery Pics

Yes - they are. I remember them, too. So these are not very recent, but if they're being used for the recovery pictures - and these are the best ones available...makes it all that much more imperative to get him to a vet.

Re: Gonzos Recovery Pics

Im no pro, but im going to have to agree with what everyone here says. Also, From the pictures he looks like he may be getting too much UVA and/or UVB lighting, its rare but it happens.
"A small but increasing number of cases have been reported of pet reptiles which have developed the symptoms of photo-kerato-conjunctivitis, which is usually the result of abnormally high exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Typical symptoms included a refusal of the animals to open the eyes, lethargy and inappetance; many also stopped basking. More severely affected animals developed swollen eyelids, and a small number developed lesions resembling burns and exfoliation of the skin of the eyelids."

Re: Gonzos Recovery Pics

That might explain the eye problem but not the emaciation.
This dragon needs help!
