Re: my dragon isnt growing
Iguanas and bearded dragons need completely different set ups, you can not under any circumstances house them together.

Re: my dragon isnt growing
Since this is the water dragon forum I assume that she means a water dragon.
But it still should NOT be housed with an iguana!!!!

Re: my dragon isnt growing
your water dragon needs its own setup. All the requirements for an iguana and a water dragon are NOT THE SAME. Your dragon isn't growing because it isn't eating, because living with an iguana will stress it out to the point of death.
You need a new enclosure for one of them, NOW.

Oh jeeze, that would make more sense, I wasn't paying attention to which forum it was on because I had just gotten back from celebrating my birthday, if you know what I mean.

Re: my dragon isnt growing
Let me throw in with the same comment. Iguanas almost never get along with other iguanas, much less another species. While housing is similar, it's not enough. Not only will the iguana intimidate the water dragon into not eating (if they don't outright fight), if you've got a proper set-up for the iguana, the water dragon will suffer just by not getting the right temperatures and humidity.
You need to separate them immediately. Here's the caresheet for Water Dragons: http://reptileguides.herpcenter.com/...-t25.html?t=25 and here's the caresheet for Iguanas: http://reptileguides.herpcenter.com/...-t39.html?t=39 Keep in mind that they will both need very large enclosures very quickly.

Re: my dragon isnt growing
I've just read through some care sheets on iguanas and it appears they can share the same environment. What specifically are you guys talking about that is different between their two set-ups? I'll agree that stress/aggression could be an issue, but the poster said the WD is eating.

Re: my dragon isnt growing
Hey jd
i have had my eldest water dragon since aug 2006 and i bought another in jan 07 and only as i seen my 2nd water dragon grow and buddy not i took her to the vet it turned out she had Metabolic Bone Disease and she is now on liquid calcium and hills a/d food to get her better i would advise seperating them as the iguana could turn on it at any time and also get ur water dragon to a vet just to make sure it isnt Metabolic Bone Disease x |

Re: my dragon isnt growing
JD, the care is not the same. It is close - very similar, in fact, but certainly not the same. In any case, it's a really bad idea to house any two species together because of the threat of diseases which are dormant in one species but can kill another. Add to that, that she'd need an awful large enclosure to comfortably house two territorial animals.
Housing the two together could get the water dragon killed. She needs to get them each their own set-ups.
