Tiny Little Case of Nose Drip

Zoey has severe snout damage from rubbing and breathes through her mouth more so than her nostrils (due to scarring). Today, she had a little nasal drip from one nostril - I was a bit excited because that means that her nasal passage is open, however, should I be concerned over a little nasal drip if she has no other symptoms of anything? She is pretty healthy - I wonder if its just because she was rubbing her snout a little recently. She is eating well, keeping hydrated and very active. Is a little drip okay? Its not like it full on running -an occassional droplet.

Re: Tiny Little Case of Nose Drip

Has she been seen by a vet about her prior snout damage?
I am a hypochondriac when it comes to my babies, they wont tell you if they aren't feeling well, so at the slightest signs in they go, even an eye booger sets me off.
From the picture the damage looks extensive, a vet might be able to put her on antibiotics to help things along and to ensure that she isn't getting a URI.

Re: Tiny Little Case of Nose Drip

Well... she actually is healing very well. Less scabbing and a bit of scarring coming in. What actually happened is that one of her nostrils has cleared up - it was blocked by the injury and with he healing it opened up again. She sticks her whole head in the water dish to drink (like she's drowning herself) and I'm pretty sure this is what happened (as I have observed it again over the weekend). I am putting neosporin on her snout - I was told that this is better than the expensive **** in the petstore (which is rumored not to work... a little bird/employee advised me of this). Of course, if her condition changes and I notice infection setting in - I will take her to the vet. For now, she eats like a pig... drinks lots of fluids and is really active. She just had a nice shed this week and her new skin is stunning. I love my babies too... my kids sometimes get jealous. LOL. :0)
