???just a few random questions???
i just fed my WDS fuzzies for the first time on sunday and I was wondering how often I should feed them mice, and how long after feeding them mice should they need feeding??? i fed them crickets today and they seemed to be hungry because they ate every last one but I dont want to over feed them
i was also wondering if it stresses them when I change there enclosure layout after a huge cleaning or if I should arrange it somewhat the same every time????
thanks

Re: ???just a few random questions???
I'm not sure about snakes but most lizards are stressed by a change in their enclosure. They like to know where they can retreat to for safety.

Re: ???just a few random questions???
Fuzzies should be fed to them as only a treat. Once maybe twice a month only. They should be fed crickets, mealies, supers, silkies and veggies as a staple. Changing the enclosure can stress them out and should only be done occasionally.

Re: ???just a few random questions???
Once settled in, unless you are doing it to decrease a dominance problem, I would leave the enclosure alone. Constantly re-arranging things is stressful to them as you are changing the landmarks they use to determine hiding places, food water and territory.
It would be like someone secretly coming into your house while you were away and moving everything completely around.
You would be disoriented and couldn't find anything!
And just when you started to figure things out,...
they came back in and did it again!

Re: ???just a few random questions???
Agreed. Don't change their enclosure unless you have to. If you realize something is unsafe and want to replace it, or if you find something that can benefit him to add, it's fine, but your dragon isn't going to get bored with his enclosure like you will. Moving things around just scares them.

Re: ???just a few random questions???
ok I was just wondering because I am cleaning the enclosure very often, and sometimes move a plant here and there or move a few rocks......it is not that I am bored with it because I love my setup it is just that I am trying to make it more comfortable for them but at the same time I might be making the uncomfortable or stressed!!!!! and that is the last thing I want to do!!!!
as far as the fuzzies go I heard they are very healthy for the dragons!!! i could be wrong but I have a few friends who feed thrie dragons a fuzzy every 2 weeks if not every week and use the crickets and worms to hold them over til their next fuzzy????????????
when my camera charges in about half an hour I am going to take a few pics of my dragons and I am hoping someone will be able to sex them for me as I do not know how to differentiate between male and female...
thanks guys
all advice and suggetions are awesome and much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry. I didn't mean to imply anything about that. That's one of the things I'm always working on. I get bored with the enclosure and think, "how can I make it better?" I want to add things, or move them around all the time, and I always have to catch myself and tell myself that it's not going to help them that much. Sigh.
Think of the fuzzies as your favorite kind of pizza. It's great to have and it does have nutritional value, but if you eat it too often, it's bad for you. For water dragons, it's a good food to give them from time to time, but those crickets that are "holding the dragons over" will supply much more of the nutrition that the water dragons need, especially if they are gutloaded correctly.

Re: ???just a few random questions???
I was told by the local pet store to feed my WD pinkies, but not fuzzies- becuase they can't properly digest the hair.
