I was hunting online for mail-order earthworms/mealworms, etc. because I am sick of paying $5 a tub for 18 inch-long earthworms at the local convenience store.

On several sites I noticed phoenix worms, which I can't recall seeing mentioned here before or on the WD care sheet. (A quick site search only brought up one reference to them and WDs which wasn't helpful.)

Anybody know if they are safe/healthy/etc. to feed to a WD? They sound pretty good based on the descriptions I've read. And they're bigger than mealworms so hopefully I wouldn't have to feed my lizard 30 of them at a time.

I live in phoenix and have never heard of this worm but then I found it online too... anyone know what this is because I'm interested too.

Well, after reading all the other links/posts, I'm not quite as impressed! I had not read on any of the mail order sites that these worms were "created" or "cultured" by some scientist. Fascinating.

I ordered some superworms instead 'cause I know Psycho loooooooves those.

While I'm at it, anybody have a favorite mail order site that they use?

If you order your delivery for ground, shipping is free and it comes UPS.
And if you wanted to order crickets too, i'd split 1000 with you. Its just $2 more than the 500 I order, but I never go through all of them.

Id do a nice check on BOI about worm man before ordering. They've fallen short alot of times.

I've used phoenix worms for my leopard geckos alot. they love them. just a bit expensive.

thanks for filing me in on wormman. All the posts of complaints were at least over a year ago. Maybe they have increased their customer relations since then. I had one weird order, called them and it was resolved. not a biggie. Of course I'm only ordering 500 crickets every month an a half, not exactly a complicated order.

Worm Man is one of the sites where I originally saw the phoenix worms.

I'll probably skip on the crickets, Liz. The last 2 times I bought him crickets he didn't want to eat them.
