At The Risk Of Sounding Stupid - Male Or Female?
Okay, so I know for a fact that Emmie is a female. But, Zoey is my rescue - told she was a female and every indication to me was female. However, her crest is higher than Emmie's and that is odd as Emmie is older. Also, the stripe from her eye to her ear is more pronounced than Emmie's is. And, her armpits are yellow (don't know how much this matters). So, at the risk of sounding stupid because I HATE TO BE WRONG... can anybody tell from my photo of Zoey if I am correct in saying female or not. I would post more photos but my camera is broken and I need a new one. HELP? LARGER PHOTO POSTED IN GALLERY (UNDER ZOEY).

A photo will help greatly. Try to get one from underneath as well.

Hello,
I doubt anyone would be able to sex the dragon by that picture. There just isn't enough to go off of. Is the mouth currently being treated? |

Re: At The Risk Of Sounding Stupid - Male Or Femal
I have some photos but have to locate my USB cable to upload and post. Yes, this photo is actually one that was provided to me from the gal in San Diego that rescued Zoey (whom had been kept in a rabbit cage) and then, we made arrangements to have her shipped to me in Phoenix to rehome. She was receiving care before she arrived with me (about a month after this photo was taken) and she had already started scarring over. I put neosporin on her snout each morning and each night (this is what my local reptile guy told me to do). I was going to get the expensive stuff from the petstore but he told me not to waste my time or money and to go get a tube of neosporin instead. This is working out great. Zoey rubbed her snout down real far - as you can see in the photo. She made a mess of her jaw and her nostrils are scarred over - so, she breathes through her MOUTH instead. You wouldn't know by how active she is or the fact that she is a little piggy with the food - that anything is wrong with her. I am watching her closely and if I see any signs of infection, etc. - I will take her to the vet ASAP. She is digging in her sand box so I am constantly having to clean her up and reapply the ointment. But, I paid the extra money for the coarser dust free sand that has been cleaned and strained. I did not want anything getting into her wounds (by getting her the dustier kind). This type of sand seems to be a good choice for her. I got it at Home Depot. Cheaper than the petstores - let me tell you that. 100 lb bag for $7.00 - lots of refills on her sandbox with that. Better end my message now - I can be a real babbler when it comes to talking about my kids and my critters. LOL.
