Re: water dragons fighting!!!!!
Reptiles are not social animals and do not play with each other.
Sounds like you need another cage!

Re: water dragons fighting!!!!!
yikes, i have them both in a 75 gallon tank right now. when I seperate them will it require them to both have 75 galon tanks? i realize they need new enclosures soon, but is anything smaller than 75 too small for a few months?

Re: water dragons fighting!!!!!
Better start drawing up plans for two big cages.
Reptiles aren't social and they aren't going to get along. One will harass the other until it's health declines and it dies, wheither from injuries or stress.

Re: water dragons fighting!!!!!
You can almost NEVER have two males together. Yours obviously have an agression problem, and if you don't separate them soon, the dominant male will kill the other one.
I believe you were worried before about the little one being sick - that's exactly the reason. Right away, you've got to get that little guy out of that cage, or he's on borrowed time. Two 75g tanks would solve the problem only temporarily. You'll have to start thinking about two very large setups soon. They're fairly easy to come by, actually. You can easily make large cages out of old furniture. It won't cost as much, as you can generally find such pieces at yard sales or thrift stores, and you can completely customize them for your needs. Please think about doing this very soon. The life of your water dragon is at stake.

Re: water dragons fighting!!!!!
i agree with everyone, i don't have much experience with water dragons but its definitely a good idea to seperate once you see bullying because the smaller one will end up getting picked on when you have aggression issues. sounds like you'll definitely need 2 enclosures, one for each. please do it as soon as possible before things get worse. good luck.

Re: water dragons fighting!!!!!
i was aware that I was going to need a large enclosure, and building one is not an issue as I am in the construction business and have the tools and means to do so.i just do not have 72 sq feet to have 2 enclosures i called the pet store where I purchased them and they said in a 75 gallon tank this should not be an issue, but yet again they sold me the wrong bulb and said I did not need a hydrometer :| they said I could return him/her and choose another one, i am not the kind of person to get a pet and then do something like this but I do not know what else I can do the thing that worries me the most is what if the one I choose is yet again aggressive!!! or on the other side of the aggression i dont know what to do but I have to do it fast ![]() |
