just a quest question but first I thought id let u all know I have now got buddy in a nice new big tank 4ft by 3ft hes loving it looking very well indeed.

my question is I am thinking about getting he/she a friend what are your thought on this?

do they prefer to be on there own on do they prefer to have company.

and if I do get another I have heard that they do not like coming out for human attension anymore is this correct cos at the moment he loves getting attension

I dont think they care one way or anther if they have a friend or cage mate. I think thats what we humans like to think, Usually a mate is strickly for the owners happiness. If you do decide to get one, it will need to be quarantined and then will also need to be the same size as Buddy. You also need to make sure the sex of Buddy. You cannot keep 2 males together and if you dont want babies then I suggest you stick to one unless you plan on getting another enclosure in the chance you get a male and female.
As far as human contact/attention goes once you get 2, I have never heard that before.

i would say it's down to the Chinese Water Dragon if it wants human contact, and if you buy a second you will run the risk of 2 males and have the responsability to give it a new home or a viv in your home.
first question on human contact is it for you or it , do you have time each day to make contact as a lapse in contact may meaning having to start all over again , this includes going on holiday .
they are just facinating left to they own devices and it's better to get a Bearded Dragon to cuddle .
