Re: third day with new dragon
I agree with Merlin. UVB is very important - as is natural sunlight. After he has time to get adjusted to you and his surroundings (which may take awhile) you'll want to take him outside to sun as often as possible.
But first things first. Like everyone else has said, you definitely want to get him a larger enclosure. And keep in mind that he will be getting a lot larger than he is now. He needs a lot of water and a lot of climbing room, so you'll want to build a very tall enclosure. You'll also need to have a water source that he can at least comfortably soak in, if not swim a little. It's important that you make sure he always has fresh water here, too, because he will use the water as a bathroom.
That care sheet should give you an idea as to diet. Vitamins are also pretty important to making sure he doesn't get something like Metabolic Bone Disease.
Don't get too freaked out. Once you get the enclosure set up correctly, and you know what to feed him, your water dragon will be pretty easy to care for, and will probably be one of the sweetest reptiles you will ever have. Just remember to get him to a certified reptile vet often for wellness checks. At least once a year is a good idea. Sickness in reptiles often goes unnoticed until it's too late, because they don't readily show signs that they aren't healthy.
