anyone else on here have a chinese water dragon

ibasically I have had my water dragon since last sept and he doesnt seem to be growing very much its really just to find out how old they should be when they reach there full size and to see if it is normal for them to go 2 days without eating anything at all he seems to go off food for days and then eat again.

any answers and advise would be appreciated

It may not seem to you that it is growing because you see it daily. I'm not sure if there is really a size chart anywhere, but males tend to get somewhere around 3 ft and females 2 ft. Depending on where you live and the temps, it can be normal for them not to feed daily. Mine would pick and choose when he wanted to eat. How are your temps in the tank, sometimes that has a role in their appetite as well.

NORMALLY HIS TEMP IS BETWEEN 97- 103 TEMP AND

HUMIDITY IS NORMALLY between 78-85 I hope this helps

Try dropping his temps,,,they dont need it that warm.

basically I have a 60watt bulb for basking under and his uv light to helps give him calcium and keep him healthy so what temp would you suggest for me to keep it at as I was told this was normal. thanks

90-95 is a good basking temp. What kind of Uv light are you using..UVB?

yep I think so im not at home now so dont know the full name of it but it is the one we got with him when we bought him how often should we change his uvb light ??

I agree if you have the flourescent UVB lights, they usually only last about 6 months....I have a female water dragon....she is 5 yrs old and is very small for her age. her former owner said she was healthy, but she is underweight and never had UVB lights before she came here.....what size cage do you have yours in? Good luck.....and keep us posted.....

buddy is still in a 3ft wide by 1.5 ft deep 1.5 ft high we were told at the time it would be a year before we would have to upgrade him to a 4ft vivarium. he seems happy enough although he doesnt seem to be growing much .
