2 - 160 watt MV

I'm trying to help a member on HH with a humidity problem(too low)
He has 2- 160 watt MVb running. This does seem excessive in a 6 ft enclosure for WD. But I have no experience with them. Any suggestions?

He could try misting the enclosure more, adding a bowl of water to the warm side.

Here's an option:
http://www.baskingwonders.com/automa...ystem_free.pdf

They can also put am air stone in the water pan, or a drip system that allows a couple of different areas to get the drip (milk jug with pin-hole in the bottom for a slow drip). They can also run a humidifier or vaporizor. If it's the warm air kind, some sort of safety cage will have to surround it. You can also suggest a fine-mist-nozzle misting units, and use one or two nozzles in his cage. You can get a timer to turn it on for five minutes per hour: MistKing :: Misting Systems :: Deluxe Nozzles .

Something doesn't sound right here. What brand of MVB are they using? 2 160 watt bulbs should be cooking that size of a tank! Unless its in a very cool room. How is the top set up?

i have a sreen top. and the tank isnt cooking its 80-85 on the harm side and 70-75 on the other end. i had thought that two was to much but wasnt sure what kind of bulb I should use. my room is usually around 65-75 at the warmest. im using esu mv bulbs with a ten in. dome. if its to hot whatshould I use for a second bulb? if I dont use one it would deffinatly be to cold.

Aha. A screen top. You are going to have to cover it up quite a bit. That will enable you to keep the humidity and the heat in. Shouldn't need the second MV bulb either.

I just read your earlier post again. You said you had most of the top covered. With what?
