They can be kept either way, multple females or females plus male or alone, but you need double to triple the space and have to watch for dominant issues.

Sorry, I dont have an answer to that since I'm not a water dragon, lol . It's hard to say, I'd say they would be happy either way.

Here are a couple of links that might help. I did find anything that said that they per to be single or in groups. But one did state that they are in groups in the wild. Hope this help.

Most reptiles prefer to be alone.

There is a problem with trying to interpret things, solely, by the way an animal lives in the wild. Many reptiles can be found in groups in the wild. That doesn't mean that it will work that way in an enclosure. In the wild, if dominance or aggressive issues arise, the animals have plenty of room to move away. There are also other animals around so that it isn't only one individual that is the target of the aggression.
In the confines of an enclosure, one animal catches it all.

They are a little more social than some other reptiles. I believe they often live in groups in the wild. Whether or not they prefer it, per se, I don't know, but they usually get along okay.

Make sure you have plenty of room for both. It's a good idea to automatically give them double the amount of space, more bathing room, and a couple of new hides. Generally the more space and climbing room they have, the happier they'll be.

The other thing is that it's probably good to start them together when they're both young. I'm not sure how an adult would react to a significantly smaller dragon if it was never socialized with its own kind before.
