? handling and temps,pavlov

week 3 now and and I still really cant handle the 1 Chinese Water Dragon but the other 1 will sit a real long time on my hand .i was wondering if it would be ok to drop the temp some to see if they will mellow out more for me too handle them.also has any 1 tried a pavlov experiment with any type of lizard.i noticed that when we rattle a plastic bag they look around more and was thinking it might be from cricket dusting and maybe they made a food sound connection.im trying to think of maybe a small bell or a clicker to see if I can get them to make this connection.if I can get them to maybe letting them free roam might be easyier to get them to put them back into there encloser.

In a word,...No.
Lowering the temps might slow them down a bit but it will also make it impossible to properly digest their food allowing the food to actually rot in their stomach. It will also lower their immune system and leave them open to contracting a variety of illnesses.

That is a very common situation. They do recognize sights and sounds that they associate with feeding. My Bearded Dragons get very excited when they see me pick up the container I use for dusting crickets.

There is no shortcut to taming your lizard. Dropping the temps is dangerous, you are just going to have to be patient. (If someone does come up with a viable short cut, do tell, )
