I had a little mites scare. I found a bunch of tiny, grey bugs crawling on heebee's poo one day. (This was during her I-REFUSE-TO-POO-IN-MY-WATER phase, so I had to go treasure hunting a lot and sometimes missed things -_-) I freaked out, but after I cleared them there didn't seem to be a problem. A week later, I found two crawling on her.
So I panicked and rushed her to the vet. A stool test and an examination later? No mites, no parsites. There were just a few bugs that had moved into her cage. (I'm still trying to clean it; it's HUGE and I need to get my paws on enough bedding and TIME D=) They're not apparent though; I suspect they've all died.
So check if your little lizard friend has bumps on the skin or mites crawling on it. If it was just one, you probably have the same problem I did

But to play it safe, remove anything organic from the cage, clean out the bedding, and put in clean newspaper for one or two weeks. That'll ensure the bugs are gone; it was the advice my vet gave me.
Now where's my shovel...?
