so I made the mixture that you suggested, but instead of powerade I used gatorade. ha I know thats a huge difference but hey. i didn't have a blender tho so I had to crush up the crickets on my own. Ew. unfortunately tho I only got maybe one squirt into his mouth when he hissed at me. i'll try some more tomorrow and let u guys know how it works out. thanks again for all the advice. i'd prob be pulling my hair out if it werent' for u guys!

Haha, glad to hear my diet comes in handy for herps as well as humans . Give your little one time, she will eat on her own soon. Have you tried appropriatley sized rodents? Those tend to get the appetite up and running pretty nicely.

Welcome to HC.
First have a look at our WD Caresheet
Depending on your setup it may be hard to keep the humidity high enough for your dragon with the carpet. I don't think that shredded coco is as bad as some have claimed, natural substrates have a lot of benefits, but it's all about what works for you.
I also really wouldn't resort to the force feeding yet as it is stressful on the animal. The dragon needs to settle in as they cope with stress differently than us (not gorging ).
Make sure the temps, lights, humidity are perfect and that he's had some time to get comfortable then try feeding him again.

Shreadded coco causes nasty eye infections for water dragons..Ive experienced this myself as have many others, I know it might look nice but its a bad idea. I have no problem keeping the humidity up in any of my herps enclosures that require high humidity such as my boas, I have repticarpet and mist the enclosures about 3-4 times a day really good and humidity dosnt go below 70%.
Notice I said if you feel you must, I dont agree with force feeding yet, IMO the wd will eat when its well adjusted and ready

i have 2 and one did perfectly fine the other refused to eat. try the tweezer method. thats what worked for mine. pick the cricket up with them and let the dragon see it wiggle. maybe rub a little on his nose. make sure you are coating them (crickets) with calcium supp. i would also feed some baby food or the nice rep shake above. most importantly i recomend using immediately until he looks a little more stable -flukers Repta Aid or Jumpstart. pet supplies plus carries repta aid here, jump start is sticky and nasty but is nice. i ordered it from herpsupplies.com (highly recomended). my dragon was fussy like that for more than 4 long months, but now it is flourishing! i thought I was going to loose him, i even took him to the vet. the vet told me that reptiles stress very easily and the stress will kill it if not properly attended to. he told me I was doing all the right things. and I have proof now he is doing great. i invested so much time it was like I had another baby, so I named him nyuji which is japanese for baby. if you need any thing else let me know.

I hope your Water Dragon is doing better. Just in case he's still being picky, though, it's probably not about the food itself. Baby water dragons are *very* easily stressed, especially when moving from one home to another. When I first got him, mine did the exact same thing. It took putting him in a very quiet part of the house and not disturbing him except to change water and lights for the better part of two weeks before he'd eat anything. And then he refused crickets for months, and would only eat mealworms and the occassional waxworm.
In those initial few weeks, even months, it's pretty vital to establish a night/day schedule, keep the temps where they should be, and give your water dragon a place to hide from you. Make sure there aren't a lot of loud noises and activities around him. Eventually he'll calm down, and then he'll be the sweetest reptile ever.
