Waterproof and eye problem

Hi . First question is one of my Chinese Water Dragon has a bubble on one of his eyes. He keeps it closed most of the time except when he is looking for food , which is difficult . Hes lost alot of wieght and even has trouble taking food by hand. We dont have a vet around that knows anything about cwds. Any help would be appreciated. Second question is Im building a new viv and want to know what a good sealer is after I paint the walls {latex low odour} I talked to the guy at the paint store and from the response I got you would think I asked him to explain how a nuclear reacter works. We have a home depot.

Dean, tell us about your enclosure, what substrate do you use? Sounds like he has a foreign body or something in his eye. Is it pussie or oozing, we have many Canadians here that might be able to help you find a vet...

Check this link and see if any of the Canadian vets are close to you...

If he is losing an incredible amount of weight Id suggest you syringe feeding him a mixture of blended crix, turkey and veggie baby food with gatorade or pedialite and calcium. This will help keep him hydrated and fed. Can you post pics of his eye? What substrate are you using, what are your temps on the warm and cool side? Whats the humidity in his enclosure?

marsha and Savannah would know best about the eye
but for sealing the tank I would use aquarium safe silicone it tells you right on the tube if its aquarium safe and if your looking to seal over the paint get a can or 2 of 2 part epoxy its not cheap but it works well

Hes in an old aquarum I had 110 gallon and the substrate is reptile bark. Its big enough that it shouldnt get in their eyes. It almost looks like a pimple or blister right on the eye. it doesnt look infected. I will try and get a picture but like I said he does not open it very often. hand feeding him seems to be helping him gain alittle weight back. The temp on the warm side is about 96 and cool is 84 and the humidity 70-85%

A picture would be helpful. Even reptibark has some small particles and is semi dusty which could be contributing to her eye problems.

Dont force his eye open, try cleaning it out with water and a q tip for now..maybe he will open it after you do. Use warm water around 80 deg.
