Parasite store strikes again!

This evil petstore that is evil (very evil) here in Edmonton, where I got a whole bunch of parasites from, decided they would show off this beautiful Uromastyx to a guy. They offered the uro mealworms, which it outright refused. I commented that I thought they were strict herbivores and they wouldn't like to eat mealworms, but then this one lady got mad and said "They eat them here all the time".

Are uro's strict vegetarians or am I just crazy?

Paleontolgy youre correct for the most part, their diets are supposed to consist of mainly veggies, insects maybe once a week, or every 2 weeks. They shouldnt be getting mealies "all the time"

Print them off a caresheet from the web and pass it to them.Hopefully they will take some advice.Too many mealies/insects can cause damage to their kidneys which can't handle too much protein.

Why would they? When I told them they had parasites they laughed at me...I wanna call some sort of authorities on them. But who!? Nobody here cares unless it's a cat or dog.

heres a site I found a few days ago:
http://www.pet-abuse.com/

heres the section that details how to go about reporting petshops for abuse and neglect:
http://www.pet-abuse.com/pages/anima...pet_stores.php

it doesen't matter if its only a cat or a dog. abuse and neglect is a crime no matter what kind of animal it is.

True!
Unfortunately not all enforcement agencies see it that way.

If the same circumstances existed for a mammal as is frequently seen with reptiles you would have a public outcry from all the "animal rights" groups condemning it. Heaven forbid that their favorite warm fuzzy was mistreated!

When it comes to herps they don't care.

After all its just a reptile!

Chances are they aren't properly looking after their dogs and cats either.Use that to get the humane society to check them out.
