Pics of Drakkar, my Uro

Hey all,
Don't post much about my Uro, seems most of the principles I have learned with my Blue Tongue Skink and Water Dragons apply to the Mali with minor modifications. Just wanted to share some pictures of him with you all.

Most recent picture of him...

Current cage setup...

Photo from mid January...

Some photos of him tripodding for hand fed greens..

Some close ups and dinner shots from December...

Urus are so weird... they look so pre-historic! Love the standing shoots! Did he just started doing that on his own or did you tease him to stand up?

We found out he could do it when he did it on his own accord when he tried to snatch food away we were picking up from his food dish, but for these particular photos he had to be teased into doing it.

Thanks folks, the UVB is not in these pictures, I just realized. The left most dome is now a ceramic based clamp lamp with a 160 watt Mega ray Self Ballasted in it. You can see the green tint in the newest picture but was not installed in the overall setup shots. No, no lettuce for Drakkar, his diet is primarily rich greens like Endive/Escarole, Collard greens, Mustard Greens, Alfalfa sprouts and occasionally some kale or bok choi, plus the odd fruit here and there.

Feeding alfalfa sprouts is pretty much a waste of your time and money. The sprouts have not yet developed the nutrition that mature alfalfa leaves contains.
They won't hurt him other than taking up room in the diet that could be filled by more nutritous greens.
