Scrabble and Domino, our new little uromastyx acanthinurus! They are he (red) and she (yellow) respectively and are July/August '04 babies. They're still settling in, but are showing off their adorable personalities already, and I'm just in love!

They look great Rachel Sorry Marsha, but I'd take a uro over a Bearded Dragon any day. They're too cool

Wild looking animals! Congratulations on the new additions Rachel. Are these your first Uros?
(I like the names, too!)

They are precious Rachel. I won't pick either way. Right now we have Bearded Dragons but 2 yrs ago a Uro was all that Becca wanted for her birthday. He was a sweetheart.

Thanks for all the sweet comments guys

Uros do have the most adorable faces, they remind me of little old men crossed with tortoises (hmm what a mix?!!) Shame they don't stay this size, animals are always cuter when they are smaller (which is why I never grew past my 5ft!)

Hehe thanks Andrea, Scrabble got his name from when I first saw him at the show and all he would do was scrabble at the sides trying to get out, and once you have him out he sits perfectly in your hand grinning up at you Domino came because we had to stick with the board game theme once Scrabble was named.. it was between Domino and Monopoly - I'm a sore loser at Monopoly so I went for Domino

Yep these are our first uros, we've wanted some for a long time now and I fell in love with Scrabble the moment I laid eyes on him. They are very lazy but unbelievably tame.

On the matter of Bearded Dragons vs. uros.. I didn't believe anything could ever replace my Bearded Dragons, they will always be my fave I think, but the uros sure are sweeties that come in a very very close second! I just love lizards in general, I think they are the most personable little creatures, and people always fall for my guys when they visit.

Hmmm... Merlin, should we take that as a personal affront?
