THat's a pretty cool enclosure there...did you build it yourself? How are you getting light to the bottom enclosure?

Looks like something I might want to build...what are the dimensions?

thank for the ideas,is there a certin kind of sand I should be using,i`m not using sand right now just the wood chips that came with him.

Yeah I built it myself.I haven't finished the top yet though.The heat lamp should be enclosed like the bottom tank.It's dimensions are 36 x 18 x 18.

Sand is the easiest substrate to use.I wouldn't say it's the best for the Uro.But washed play sand finely screened would be the best to use.Some people use calci-sand but it's not suited for Uros.They don't require any additional calcium so eating it daily would throw their diet off balance.

That's awesome Mike. I'm thinking about building a couple cages myself...thanks for the tips. I am thinking about building two 4' x 3' x 2' cages and have a tray that pulls out for easy cleaning.

How did you mount the lights within the top of the cage?

heres mine, the bottom in my nigerian, and the long tank on top to the right of the picture is my mali srry I dont have a better picture , maybe i'll be able to get a some better pictures later
