Uro not eating...I think...
Well I got a Nigerian Yellow from a friend that could not keep her anymore due to her having 2 cats, 5 german shepards, and about to have a baby. She had her for 2 years and had no problems. I got her about 3 weeks ago and I have never seen this girl eat!!! I gave her crickets once since I had her and she went crazy eating them but I never see he eating her greens. I put them in a bowl and when I get home from work they are sometimes scattered around the tank so I dont know if that meant she was eating em or just playin around and they got scattered. She poops daily so I guess she has been eating. I guess what I am asking is: Is there a dormant phase that they go through where they do not eat alot? Or could it just be the move to a new location? Her temps are fine and her tank is fine I cant see no other reason. |

Uros can become very stressed from moving to a new home, my yellow that got shipped overnight to me took two weeks before he would eat anything I just kept giveing him a new collard green leaf everyday so I could check it for bitemarks and green peas which I counted when I put them in.so I could tell if any where missing.
you could also leave her a small bowl of water mine drank alot while he was acclimating. but he went nuts for those green peas so you might want to try those is she in the same tank or a new one? and have you been keeping an eye on the temperatures even if she have the same lamp temperture differences between your house and your freinds can make a difference in her tank temperatures. her basking temperature should be at least 110 but closer to 120 is better dont ffed her anymore crickets until your sure she's eating her greens and than only use them as an ocasional treat it could also be becuase its winter mine is not eating and sleeping alot even though im trying to keep him awake, but in your case im leaning towards acclimation stress, is she still active moving around normaly during he day? |

She is very active during the day, and she is in the same tank as before but I did add a few more places for her to hide. Maybe she is just still getting used to the new surroundings, she is always walking around licking everything...lol.

Mine usually eat very infrequently in the winter months. From what I've read about it, it's because in their native habitat food was scarce in the winter months. And yes as Jade said don't feed anymore crickets. If that's all she's eating the high protein level could give her kidney failure.

She's eating!!! She's eating!!! And boy is she eating alot...lol. Is it ok for them to eat like that? I mean do they stop when they get full, or should I take out her food once she has stuffed herself, which it is what it looks like she is doing...lol. My little fat girl

Yes they'll stop when full. Uros are not known for being gluttonous like Bearded Dragons.
Glad to hear she's eating again. It's very stressful when they don't eat.
