So we can love our reptiles and enjoy them, and feel better because they are there. Understanding what makes them tick just helps us to respond to them better. In turn, we get even more comfort from them.

Re: Companionships with Your Reptiles
They don't feel love like say a dog or a cat. Nor do they give it back like a dog or a cat. Yeah some vary on how they deal with human interaction. Some are to smart for their own good. While others really could careless about humans. Yeah I love my reptiles, but no I don't get the love back.
One thing that is bad is that alot of people like to anthropomorphize. Which most of the time causes lots of problems. Cause they do what they want and think they need and not really what the animal needs. They also think their animals have feelings that they don't have.

I don't think cats and dogs care if you fell off of the world either. If they got the proper care I don't think they would care.

I disagree with that. Both my cats and my dog know ME, and even when I go away and someone else takes care of them, when I get home they are excited to see me. Especially my dog, Tippi. My boyfriend takes her out for most of her walks, is home more than I am because he works from home, and feeds her just as much as I do, but she still prefers me to take care of her and be with her than him...

I agree, With dogs anyways! They DEFINITELY show an emotional bond with humans.
There are documented cases where, when the owner died,
soon after the dog died as well.

I disagree with that too. I had a house sitter for a week while I was gone on vacation. He was there just as much as I was and took just as good care. When I got home, my cat Weasley wouldn't leave me alone all night long for a good 2 weeks. It was constant cheek rubs and purring in my ear. He DID miss me.

Yes I disagree with saying cats and dogs dont have a bond. Mom's GSD no matter what, where or for how long. She flips out and will wait and rub on her when mom comes in the back door.

Some birds do that too. My grandmother had one, a canary, I think, that bonded with her. When she was hospitalized for a week, the bird pined away until it died - even though it was being taken care of just the same as always by the rest of the family who lived in the house.
