Uro ID Quiz

Just for fun, I thought I'd let you guys try to ID which kind of Uromastyx is in the following photo. It's a juvenile (about 8"), and the picture isn't great, which kind of makes it harder. Hint - It's not a Mali.

Re: Uro ID Quiz

Juvies can be difficult. But I'll guess Moroccan. You can just see the little belly bands.

I'd say a U.acanthinura (or moroccan as stated by kriminaal)
U.a.nigriventris is the more commonly captive bred sub-species - but U.a.acanthinura is a possiblity, and to differentiate I would have to wait till that is an adult.

Many more pic's from diff angles would help - belly shots - head shots etc., So hard from a single pic (so hard to tell from pics period)

Re: Uro ID Quiz

Sorry folks, it's not a Moroccan (U. acanthinura nigriventris), nor is it an Algerian (U.acanthinura acanthinura .) I know it's unfair to only give you a single photo of a juvenile, but that's the challenge.

Here's a second clue - It's got a lot of growing to do.

Then it's my second guess. An Egyptian?

Re: Uro ID Quiz

Wow, particular.lol
I don't have much in the way of knowledge of them so no clue.
I first figured it looked like the head shape was right but I've never seen juvie Egyptians. That's why I guessed Moroccan.
How about microlepis? Only because they seem to be imported more often.
