I have a pair of malis, about 4 months, I'm not sure of the sex yet, they look completely oppsoite and act different too. The one I have which I believe is a male, has a yellow back and he is alot more calm. When I put my hand in the tank he doesn't scatter away, but it is smaller than the other one, and has a smaller head. Which I've heard is what females have. The other mali, is bigger, browner and has dark spots/lines on the back. That mali is also VERY skittish. If I move too quickly around the tank it runs to the hide. Ive heard it's pretty hard to sex malis, but maybe the characteristics can help? Anyone have an idea?

In my experience in sexing, four months is too soon to accurately depict gender.

Yea I was guessing that. From my research there are also mimic males and females. So I guess I'm going to wait until I see eggs to say I have a male and female.

Maybe it would help if you posted pics of their under bellies it would help....
