Re: Uro - Vet Visit
Well I had her at the vet's today though her condition today she seems a li'l better. Consequently, the vet gave me anti-biotics for her in case I feel the need to use it, but at this stage recommend that I don't give her the anti-biotics unless her condition worsens. At the vet her eyes were clear and dry, and her breathing sounds clear - all other indications are good at present too.
The vet did recommend that I give her pro-biotics whether or not I give her the anti-biotics - and to keep a close eye on her and her weight, which today is same as 2 days ago (517 g)
Last night (instead of a hot-rock) i left one infra-red light on just to elevate the night time temp a tad, though it doesn't get really cold as the viv is indoors - I know from experience with snakes and one of my other Uro's to keep them warmer than normal during convalescence
Anyway -- I am hopeful -- I will be gutted if things go south with her -- all I can do is the best I can do and pray the outcome will be all I want it to be
Thanks sooo much everyone for your advice -- sometimes we (I) need to get told to do what we (I) know we (I) oughta - and not be too pig-headed.
Thanks again - please know it is greatly appreciated

Uh-huh -- I agree totally - as well as with the cooler - cold-end temp recommendation -- and I will

I am aware - as I said in my original post - that the current temperature situation is a little on the high side, but it isnt excessive - and I feel that at present it is better for her - Their average high in the wild is 107 F so 114 isnt too excessive and they can go to the cooler end, as well as take shelter under hides. Judging by the male - he is perfectly happy with the temperatures, but I know a can (and will) do better when I have completed their new home.

I dont recall anybody saying you are stupid. . however from you first post we cant tell you have all the herps and it seemed as it was your first uromastyx.
As far as that hot side temp in my opinion its a bit excessive. i would stick to 107 or less. I am shure in the wild it goes above 107F on occasion but not ever day. Yes then can goto the cooler side however they prefer to hang on on the hotter side most of the day if it isnt too high. again this is my opinion and please dont take this as rude either as its not meant to be at all.
and last your post wasnt rude at all well said

Thought you had said in your first post that you were planning on putting her on a hot rock? Sorry if I was mistaken.
