don't know a whole lot on keeping two uros together but i do know that you have to make sure that ther're not the same gender. uros are pretty taritorial. if you have two males (and somtimes females) they could start to seriously hurt eachother.

also, sense they are pretty big herps, you would have to have quite a big enclousure.

Re: New to the Forum, Have Some Questions

Reptiles don't urinate the way people do. You should find little white bits, which are called urates. It's important to clean out the carpets pretty often, even when spot cleaning. It's easy for germs to fester if you don't.

Most reptiles are not social. Some uros do okay with a cagemate, but most do not. You'll have to be careful to watch for signs of fighting or dominance issues. If you see these, then you need to separate them immediately.

Re: New to the Forum, Have Some Questions

I will start to clean the carpet more frequently, though I clean up his feces and urate everday thoroughly.

I have to wonder though what is wrong with kale? Do they not digest it well? I'm only asking because he has had lots of it everday for years and loves it. I tried giving him escarole when I just got him, but he wouldn't touch it and ate around it.

Again, thanks for the feedback and I'll see if I can post some pics of Neo and his home soon!

I don't think that the kale is necessarily bad, its just not good. There isn't much to it other than water... There are many other dark leaved greens that are better.... Try some of these others "Vegetables include carrots, beans, peas, corn, mustard greens, bok choy, collard greens, parsnips, squash and dandelion flowers." from the caresheet.

Welcome to HC!
I'm not a uro owner, though i do think it would be cool to get my hands on a Uromastyx aegyptius.

It's important to avoid anything in the spinach family. Such as spinach, chard, kale and parsley. These veggies contain oxalates that prevent the bloodstream from absorbing calcium.
