Re: My New Setup Minus Half the Sand
Yours may prefer that but actually the norm for them is to wedge themselves in and protect the entrance with their spiked tail. It is very difficult to pull them out when they've done this.

I thought those platforms looked like they could be hides, too, but I wasn't sure. I does look good.

Re: My New Setup Minus Half the Sand
what are you talking about kriminal that my uro may prefer that???? . Uros like there hides to barly touch there backs so they feel secure. my uro is no different then anybody elses and yes his tail is allways facing the door for protection. Ive never tryed to pull him out of his hide and never plan on doing it. Just dont understand where that comment came from

He's saying that they like their hides to be very snug.

Re: My New Setup Minus Half the Sand
Yep that's all I was saying. You were probably saying the same thing but worded it differently.

Re: My New Setup Minus Half the Sand
no problem, i wasnt goin that deep with the post so I just left it at hides like to touch there backs. i didnt feel the need to tell someone that the tail is allways towards the door for protection because all uros do it and im sure they would of figured that out on there own. got to leave some stuff up for suprise for a new lizard owner. thats the beauty of herp keeping.

Re: My New Setup Minus Half the Sand
No problem spector glad I can give someone ideas. however everybody I am going back to full sand again as he likes to now do his deed on the no sand side and he is smearing it on his belly when he walks over it. = Stinky Lizard. I had to wipe him down and the tank 2 times in the past 3 days. so its back to the full sand. Oh and Mary its cool to use the pic if you like. I am shure once you got yours you would of changed it to yours anyway and I am shure yours will be a great lookin uro and as much reasearch as you have been doing and the questions you ask me will make him/her a healthy uro. So kudos to you.
