Re: For the Inside- Uro Enclosure
here are pics of enclosure I built. i recently took all the river rock out and removed the 2 rocks holding the basking area up since I just got a megaray 160 watt so I lowered my basking spot to get a 127f surface temps. no ramps anymore and I put a hide like the one on the left (under his food bowl) right under his basking rock. also I planted my hollyhock and dandalions, and hybiscus so I can have free food all summer and fall. yea

Re: For the Inside- Uro Enclosure
That is definitely nice. I like that you have the food dish up and away from the sand, and plenty of hard surfaces. It looks great.

Re: For the Inside- Uro Enclosure
thanks I put alot of thought into it. however I am thinking of putting in a divider in the middle and just having sand on the hot side as that is the side he always sleeps on. and then use nothing but rock on the left side. as we all know when they walk they allways stick out there tounge every few seconds I am shure that there tounge is wet or sticky and he is at least getting some sand in is stomach and he does kick it around sometimes it will land up in his food.

Re: For the Inside- Uro Enclosure
after I changed from my 55 gal to this one. i can tell he loves it alot more. now he can actually run and he hardly ever glass dances anymore. however he does try to get to the top of the mountain on my background. you can actually see him just under it.

Re: For the Inside- Uro Enclosure
so you actually plant "food" plants in the enclosure..... i really never thought about that!
it's ingenious!!!! where do you find dandelion plants.... or do you just get them out of the back yard?

Re: For the Inside- Uro Enclosure
I think he's talking about planting outside in the garden.
Those plants would not fare well in a uro's environment!

Re: For the Inside- Uro Enclosure
thats exactly what I was thinking......
and of course he would leave them in the pot not plant them in the sand.

Re: For the Inside- Uro Enclosure
Even then the heat and lack of humidity would do them in.
