Maligirl - that's a LOT of lights. Have you tried simply upping the wattage on the bulbs? That might be a good solution for you. And under tank heater may also work well.

The only thing I would have to say is that if you lower the temps a little and he's still panting, you may want to get him checked out. It could be a respiratory infection or something wrong with his lungs.

But its a big tank if I keep 150 and a 75 watt its tooooo cool and 150 and 150 also... 2 75's and 2 150 's keeps temp at 118 the highest for basking (any suggestions)...

Very nice looking setup. It looks like the top is almost completely open though. That's where you're losing a lot of the heat. Also I can almost quarantee you that when your Uros get used to the enclosure they will escape. Trust me they don't look like it but they are good at it.

Also what type of bulbs are you using? Halogens give off the best heat.

I am using 2 150w Zoo Med Repti basking lamps and 2 75w infared by EXO Terra ..n Thanks for the compliment about the tank I had it custom made ..

Oh yes I defitnetly have to cover that with a screen ....... I was just so excited to put them in the bigger tank the screen is on its way tho

I would cover most of it with glass if you can. It's cheaper than plexi and it will hold more heat in than the screen.

how about half wood where the lights are and the other screen/mesh let me know ........ or I can also do all glass but what a pain to take off and on I think..

Im having the wood made as we speak, I will take a picture today when it's done I think It's better and will look nicer
